Log in to your cPanel account.
Navigate to Advanced → Track DNS (or “Track DNS”).
You’ll see two main tools:
Domain Lookup — to resolve the IP address and DNS info of a domain.
Trace Route — to see the path data takes from your computer to the server.
To perform a Domain Lookup:
Enter the domain name in the “Enter a domain to look up” field.
Click Look Up.
The interface will display the domain’s mail servers, IP address, and “Zone Information”.
To perform a Trace Route:
Click the Trace button (after the domain is entered).
The tool will display the sequence of network hops (servers) your request goes through and how long each hop takes.
If you don’t have access to Trace Route, you may need to contact your hosting or server administrator (the interface might be disabled by your provider).
Review the results. Use them to check DNS propagation, find where traffic is routing, or troubleshoot latency/network-path issues.
