How to Set Up Perl Modules in cPanel

Log in to cPanel

  1. Access your Thamara.Cloud hosting account.

  2. Click cPanel to open the dashboard.

Open the Perl Modules Interface

  1. Scroll to the Software section.

  2. Click on Perl Modules (or sometimes labeled Perl Module Installer).

Search for the Module You Need

  1. Use the Search field to find the module by name.

    • Example: DBI, LWP::UserAgent, or JSON.

  2. Click Go or Search to display results.

Install the Module

  1. From the search results, locate the module you want to install.

  2. Click Install next to the module name.

  3. Wait for cPanel to complete the installation.

  4. After successful installation, a confirmation message will appear.

Note: If the module requires dependencies, cPanel usually installs them automatically.

Verify Module Installation

  1. In the Installed Modules section, search for the module to confirm it appears in the list.

  2. Alternatively, you can create a simple Perl script to check module availability:

#!/usr/bin/perl use Module::Name; print "Module is installed successfully.\n";

Troubleshooting

  • Module not found? Make sure you typed the correct name. Perl module names are case-sensitive.

  • Dependency issues? Some modules may require additional Perl modules. cPanel’s installer usually handles this automatically.

  • Permissions issues? Ensure your scripts run under your account and not another user.
