How to Set Spam Score Limit in cPanel

Steps to Change the Spam Score Limit

  • Log in to your Dashboard

◦ Go to Dashboard

◦ Select Services then click on active on your hosting service.

◦ Click login to cPanel to access your cPanel dashboard.

  • Go to the Spam Filters tool.

◦ In the Email section, click Spam Filters.

  • Open Spam Threshold Score settings.

◦ Click on Spam Threshold Score to view the current score configuration.

  • Choose your preferred spam score limit.

◦ From the dropdown menu, select your desired spam score value (e.g., 3, 5, or 10).

  • Save your changes.

◦ Click Update Scoring Options at the bottom of the page.

Important Notes

  • The new spam score limit applies to all email accounts under your cPanel account.
  • Lowering the score makes the filter more aggressive, while increasing it makes it more lenient.
  • Adjust gradually — start with 5 and fine-tune based on how many legitimate emails get marked as spam.
