How to Change PHP Version and Extensions (Select PHP Version)

Summary:-

Different websites and scripts require specific versions of PHP to function correctly. At Thamara, we provide a flexible "PHP Selector" tool. This allows you to switch between multiple PHP versions (e.g., 7.4, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3) and enable or disable specific PHP extensions (like gd, imagick, or zip) to meet your website's requirements.

Steps to Change PHP Version:

  1. Log in to your cPanel.

  2. Scroll down to the Software section and click on Select PHP Version.

  3. Under the Extensions tab, you will see your "Current PHP version."

  4. Click on the version number to open the dropdown menu and select the desired version.

  5. Click Set as current.

  6. To enable an extension, simply check the box next to its name. The system saves changes automatically.

  7. To change limits (like memory_limit or upload_max_filesize), click on the Options tab at the top.

Tip for Thamara Users:

If you encounter a "500 Internal Server Error" after a WordPress update, it is often due to an outdated PHP version. We recommend using PHP 8.1 or higher for the best balance of security and performance.
