How to Modify a cPanel Account via WHM

At Thamara Cloud, we understand that your projects grow and requirements change. The "Modify an Account" function in WHM is the primary tool for updating and customizing existing cPanel accounts on your server.

Steps to Modify an Account:

  1. Log in to your WHM dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Account Functions section in the left-hand menu and select Modify an Account. You can also use the search box for quick access.

  3. Choose the specific domain or account you wish to update from the list.

  4. Click the Modify button to open the settings page.

What You Can Customize:

  • Basic Information: Update the primary domain name, username, contact email, and default language.

  • Resource Limits: Adjust the disk quota, bandwidth, number of SQL databases, subdomains, and email accounts.

  • Privileges: Manage advanced permissions such as Shell access (SSH) and CGI privileges.

  • DNS & Security: Enable or edit DKIM and SPF settings to ensure high email deliverability.

  • Package Extensions: Modify specific variables if the account uses specialized package extensions.

Package Conflict Resolution: If your new settings do not match an existing hosting package, WHM will prompt you to resolve the conflict. You can choose to upgrade/downgrade to a matching package, create a new package with these settings, or keep the account without a specific package. We recommend saving these changes as a new package for easier management in the future.
