How to Setup a Remote Access Key in WHM

At Thamara Cloud, we empower developers and system administrators with the tools needed for seamless automation. A Remote Access Key is essential for allowing external scripts, billing software (such as WHMCS), and other third-party applications to communicate with your Web Host Manager (WHM) to create, remove, or modify accounts automatically.

Key Functions:

  • Automation: Allows external applications to perform administrative tasks without manual login.

  • Integration: Provides Perl and PHP modules for easy integration into your custom-built applications.

  • Security: Grants controlled access to server functions through secure script calls.

How to Generate an Access Key:

  1. Log in to your WHM dashboard.

  2. Locate the Cluster section in the left-hand side panel. You can find it quickly by typing "Remote Access Key" in the search box.

  3. Select Remote Access Key from the menu options.

  4. Click on the Generate New Key button.

  5. Copy the newly generated key and paste it into the appropriate configuration file or location within your external application.
