Troubleshooting: Website Isn’t Displaying

Troubleshooting: Website Isn’t Displaying
Common Causes & Checks

Cause What to Check How to Fix / Next Steps
Domain is typed incorrectly Ensure you’re entering the correct domain (with or without www) Try both example.com and www.example.com
DNS / Nameservers not set or misconfigured Check if your domain’s nameservers are pointing to Thamara.cloud’s nameservers Update nameservers in your registrar dashboard to Thamara’s NS settings
DNS changes still propagating DNS propagation can take 24-72 hours after changes Wait for propagation; use online propagation tools like dnschecker.org
Domain expired or suspended Confirm domain registration status (active and renewed) Renew the domain or contact your registrar
Hosting not linked / site files missing Ensure hosting is active and website files are uploaded (in public_html or root directory) Upload your site files or verify hosting configuration
Missing homepage (index file) Check if there’s a valid index.html or index.php Add or rename your homepage file
Incorrect DNS A / CNAME records Verify A or CNAME record points to your hosting server IP Correct the DNS record in your DNS zone
SSL / HTTPS issues SSL not installed or invalid, causing browser blocks Install or reissue SSL from Thamara dashboard
Redirect or .htaccess errors Misconfigured redirect rules causing loops Review .htaccess and remove conflicting entries
Firewall / CDN blocking access Security rules or CDN may block traffic Review firewall settings or disable CDN temporarily for testing

  • Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide

----> Confirm domain and connectivity

◦ Ping or use dig to confirm your domain resolves to an IP.

◦ Try visiting your website from different networks or devices (for example, use mobile data instead of Wi-Fi).

◦ Use DNS propagation tools (like dnschecker.org) to see which regions have updated records.

◦ If the site loads in some regions but not yours, try using a VPN to connect through a country where propagation is complete.

----> Check domain registration & nameservers

◦ Log into your Thamara.cloud account.

◦ Confirm the domain is active and renewed from https://dashboard.thamara.cloud/clientarea.php?action=domains.

◦ Ensure the nameservers are correctly set to Thamara.cloud nameservers from (Portal Home >> Client Area >> My Domains >> (Your Domain).

---> Verify DNS records

In your Thamara.cloud DNS manager:

◦ Ensure the A record points to your hosting server IP.

◦ The CNAME record for www points to your domain (if applicable).

◦ Remove outdated or conflicting records.

---> Confirm hosting setup & site files

◦ Make sure your hosting plan is active and linked to your domain.

◦ Check the root folder (httpdocs, public_html or equivalent).

◦ Confirm there’s an index.html or index.php file.

---> Test with a simple file

Upload a simple file named index.html containing:

<h1>Hello from Thamara.cloud!h1>

If that page displays, your hosting is working — the issue may lie in your website’s code or CMS configuration.

---> Review redirects & .htaccess

◦ Temporarily rename .htaccess to test if it’s causing the issue.

◦ Check for redirect loops or syntax errors in the file.

----> SSL / HTTPS configuration

◦ Verify SSL certificate installation.

◦ If browsers show warnings, reinstall SSL from Thamara.cloud dashboard.

◦ Set HTTPS redirection only after SSL is valid.

----> Firewall / CDN / security filters

◦ If using Cloudflare or another CDN, temporarily disable proxy mode.

◦ Review WAF (Web Application Firewall) or IP restrictions.

◦ Check hosting logs for 403/500 errors indicating blocked access.

----> Wait for DNS propagation & clear cache

◦ DNS changes can take up to 72 hours to fully propagate globally.

◦ Clear your browser cache or use Incognito Mode.

◦ Flush local DNS cache (Windows: ipconfig /flushdns, macOS: sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder).
